It is extremely important for thorough planning and organisation in the preparation of undertaking any form of assessment or report writing.
For each assignment undertaken we ensure that a full plan is completed that is shared with the requestor as well as agreed with the person / people being assessed. This includes details of the dates and times for each assessment session and the focus of the assessment for that session.
This ensures that all parties involved in the assessment process have a full understanding of what is required of them and what is expected. Hence, it is clear when sessions will be undertaken and clarity provided for when the final assessment or report will be available.
We are fully experienced in providing reports ordered through Part 25 applications in the court process. The aim is to ensure that the assessments / reports are able to fit into the court timetable and work to try and fit this in as much as is possible. Within a quotation there will always be a final date that the report can be provided by. We are willing to attend court and have experience of being questioned from the box.
Reports are written to a highly professional standard and the aims of the report are to ensure that any questions that court requires answering are addressed, with information efficiently gathered and analysed with influences from research and social work theory.
We are able to offer in-depth parenting assessments which holistically look at the ability of the parent to effectively parent their child/ren, through the use of worksheets and direct sessions. Parenting assessments are informed through the use of theory and research and focus on the areas defined within the needs jigsaw. This is used at times for those that may find sessions more difficult and may have some learning needs.
The areas included (but not exhaustive) within the parenting assessment are:
Reason for the assessment
Sources of information gathered
Family tree (genogram), history and functioning
social / support network, housing and finances
Understanding the child's needs - health, hygiene, stages of development, play and interaction, education
Parenting capacity - ensuring safety, routines and boundaries, stimulation, stability
Analysis including capacity to change
